Workshop Title: Catalyzing Community Connections

Celebrating ACS's 150th Anniversary & National Chemistry Week

Program Goals

Join fellow New England chemistry educators at Saint Anselm College for an outstanding day focused on chemistry & forensic science degree programs, research and hands-on learning. The focus will be on:

  • Introducing current Saint Anselm College chemistry and forensic science research projects
  • Exploring new opportunities for teachers to network and gain understanding of college academic programs
  • Building community among chemistry educators across the region

Program Highlights

  • 9:30 - 10 AM  Morning Refreshments, Sign In, Welcome to Campus (lobby of Perini Lecture Hall)
Admissions representatives & professors of the Chemistry and Forensic Science Department welcome participants to the College Campus
  •  10 - 11 AM   Faculty & Student Research Presentations (15 min/each) Perini Lecture Hall
  • Catalyzing Curiosity Beyond the Classroom
Chemistry professors & students will present current research and innovations in their field.  The student panel will include a question & answer session 
  •  11 - 11:45 AM Department, Facility Tours led by current Students (Goulet Science Center)
Visit the Department labs for a behind-the-scenes look at research-grade tools
  • 12 - 12:45 PM Lunch & Networking  (Davison Dining Hall)
Enjoy a light lunch with a short stroll to the Campus Dining Hall 
Connect with other NEACT members and Saint Anselm Chemistry/Forensic Science students, faculty and staff. 
Refreshments provided by NEACT Voucher.
  • 1 - 2:30 PM Hands-On Laboratory Focused Workshops (Department Labs)
Participate in Workshops designed to take back to your school and experiment with your students
  • 2:30 - 3 PM Closing Remarks & continued Networking  (Perini Lecture Hall & Reading Room)
Further discussion time and ability to communicate with Outreach Possibilities

This program is free and only open to NEACT members.
