First New England Chemistry Education Research (CER) Symposium

Are you engaged in chemistry education research (CER) or interested in evidence-based innovations in your chemistry classroom? Do you teach or engage with chemistry at the high school or undergraduate level in New England? Are you interested in connecting with and sharing ideas with your peers and colleagues in the region?

The first New England CER Symposium will be hosted at Tufts University on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our intent is to bring chemistry education researchers and practitioners in the Northeast together to share their work and build community. It will be a one-day event with invited talks from leading and emerging scholars in chemistry education research, posters, lunch debriefs, reception, and much more.

Please consider attending and/or sharing your work as a poster. To apply, fill out this google form by November 22 (https://forms.gle/wAra23qaGp8jyGgZ6). Anyone engaged in thinking critically or learning more about chemistry education research and practice is encouraged to apply. Example foci for posters include research insights at any stages, classroom innovations, or provocative questions for transforming chemistry teaching and learning.

Attendance is capped at 150 participants due to the size of our lecture hall. Applications will be considered in the order they were received. Once we have received and accepted your application, you will receive an email to register for the conference for a small fee of $10.

Please reach out to ira.caspari@tufts.edu with any questions.

Best wishes,

Northeastern CER Symposium Organizing team
