ChemChats are monthly open roundtable discussions on Zoom facilitated by NEACT. ChemChats are aimed at high school and college chemistry teachers but are open to all STEM teachers. Come to share ideas, come to ask questions, or just come for the collegiality.
Our topic for this afternoon is "Using Everyday Reactions to Dive Deep into Chemistry." Students are familiar with phenomena like rusting or rising bread. How can thse be used, perhaps at multiple points in the year, to apply different chemistry concepts or skills? Come to share what you do, come with questions or requests, or just come to listen to your colleagues. You can add to or access shared documents in this folder.
ChemChats are hosted by Sue Klemmer. I am ZOOMING from the coast of Maine, so times are always stated as east coast time. We run 4:00-5:00 pm EST.
The next ChemChat will be Feb. 8th (the 2nd Thursday of the month is our usual date) and that topic will be "Writing Rich Objective Questions". We'll also be looking for future topics (differentation is coming!).
