2018 Goldschmidt Conference--August 12-17 in Boston, MA

Goldschmidt is the foremost annual, international conference on geochemistry (geochemistry is the intersection between chemistry and earth & environmental science) and related subjects, organized by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry. https://goldschmidt.info/2018/

This year, the Goldschmidt is inviting participation from local K-12 educators interested in how to enhance their chemistry and/or earth & environmental science classroom content. The overall goal is to increase awareness of geochemistry in K-12 schools, make connections between K-12 educators and the Goldschmidt community, and provide ideas for bringing geochemistry themes into K-12 classrooms. Most school systems emphasize chemistry, physics, and biology... but modern geoscience *is* geochemistry, geophysics, geobiology and these fields encompass some of the most pressing and fascinating issues of our time. The Next Generation Science Standards have recognized the importance of earth & environmental sciences in their recommended content, but implementation of the NGSS can be enhanced through partnerships between K-12 educators and university/professional geoscientists.
